Abstract
Audio recording and transcript of John Dunham's 1967 presentation to the Nanaimo Historical Society in which he talks about the past, present, and future of the Nanaimo harbour. Mr. Dunham details the harbour's history, from its role in the early coal industry in Nanaimo, through to its current function as a wood products exporting centre. In addition to the harbour's role in the export trade of Nanaimo, Mr. Dunham also gives details about the development of aids to navigation, the local ferry systems, and the fisheries industry in the area. Finally, Mr. Dunham also gives his predictions about what future developments may be in store for the Nanaimo harbour.
