Problems faced by students while studying physics during their high school years
Subject
Abstract
The purpose of the present study is to find ways to overcome the difficulties faced by students while studying physics. The previous researchers’ view is that students face challenges while studying physics because physics is full of formulas, calculations, graphs, conceptual explanations, and experiments, and students have to make transformations from graphical to mathematical representations (Angell et al., 2004). The present study focuses on providing quality education to students and to draw solutions to any problem the students face while studying physics. The author of the present study believes that this research will provide new methods of instruction for teachers while dealing with this subject so that students could make the connection and could develop an interest in physics. Physics educators and physics education research has mentioned that improvement is still needed in the area of methods of instruction while delivering lectures of physics, as it is a kind of subject that can only be understood when students have hands-on experience followed by the lecture method (David et al., 2011).
