Abstract
Education has shifted away from strictly being about memorizing content and more about developing skills. The shift in the BC Curriculum has allowed for more of a skill-based learning which allows students to learn through a holistic approach. The implementation of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into day-to-day lessons, students have the opportunity to become well-rounded students which will aid in developing positive relationships with peers and make effective decisions when it comes to their education. Mobile Learning (M-Learning) and SEL support student engagement and success as it delivers the material through a different medium. Students would move away from the use of pen and paper and implement the use of mobile devices and apps. The paper address the question “How can mobile learning technologies be utilized to encourage the development of Social-Emotional Learning to support secondary student success?” As a result, a website, SEL and M-Learning, was developed (http://selandmlearning.weebly.com/) to provide educators and parents with information on SEL and M-Learning.
