Passionate anarchy: Portrait of a life
Subject
Abstract
Attilio Bortolotti, better known as Art Bartell, was an Italian-born anarchist, who emigrated to Canada in 1920, and eventually became a successful businessperson. For some 25 years after arriving in this country, Art remained an active anarchist and anti-fascist, becoming gradually more absorbed in his business affairs beginning in the late 1940s. From then until his recent death, Art used proceeds from the business to help support numerous anarchist publishers, schools, and archives throughout the Western world.
