Audio recording and transcript of George Mrus's 1979 interview with Barbara Graves for the Coal Tyee History Project. Mrus shares memories of his time working in the mining industry. Mrus describes how he got his first job in the Extension Mine when he was only 13 years old. He talks about his impressions of the Vancouver Island Coal Miners' strike, and how difficult it was to get a job locally afterwards. He explains how he left the Island to work in Anyox and Brittania, eventually returning to work in Lantzville
