Description
Professor Stefano Zamagni provides a brief history of the co-operative movement internationally and in Emilia-Romagna, makes the distinction between labour-managed and workers' co-ops, defines "market economy" and its distinction from capitalism through consideration of the division of labour, development, free enterprise, and the impact on the public good. In the process, Zamagni presents the concept of "social capital". This Bologna Summer Program was presented in Vancouver, BC and is part of the Bologna Lecture series.
