Abstract

This case study used a mixed methods research design to identify ways schools can build connectedness. Students and school staff completed a survey to show how connected they felt to their school, and ways connectedness was being built. Emergent themes of (1) the power of care in relationship, (2) Bounce as a Catalyst for Connectedness; Community and Belonging , (3) Teachers Connecting with Teachers; a Powerful Force of Connectedness , (4) Conversation and Connection . Survey results and analysis of other relevant research combine to provide a scaffolding for a class and school wide community building.
